Lift Experts Take Next Step in Escalator Service

Leicestershire-based LTR Lifts and Escalators will be helping to keep visitors on the move at one of the UK’s newest and most exciting shopping and leisure developments, following their first collaboration with one of the UK’s best-known retailers.

The escalator, at the Next store at the £275 million Eden development in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, was installed by LTR in December. It is now ready to start rolling when the Eden complex opens in mid-March.

Installation took just a matter of hours. Work began at 7am and LTR had completed the job and were off site by 3pm.

Alan Dunkley, managing director of LTR, said: “We are delighted that the escalator installation went so smoothly. This is the first time we have worked for Next, so it is exciting for us to have been involved with such a well-known household name and to have played a small part in the Eden development.”

Steve Middleton, regional construction manager for Next, said LTR’s specialist escalator expertise had been a key factor in the firm’s appointment to the contract.

He said: “The project has gone smoothly and LTR’s flexible approach has been welcome in achieving a successful outcome.”

The Eden scheme is a development by Multiplex and Aldersgate Investments, in partnership with Wycombe District Council.
