LTR is on the Right Track for Success

Leicestershire based LTR Lifts and Escalators is on track for a extremely successful few months, having established a brand new sector of clients within the UK railway industry resulting in contracts estimated to be worth more than a quarter of a million pounds.

Having only recently received Network Rail Approval as a confirmation that Hinckley based LTR can be employed in railway operations throughout the whole of the UK, the evolving company has since secured not one but two major contracts with UK railway stations.

The expanding company has been commissioned to supply and install passenger lifts for use at the brand new railway station at Coleshill Warwickshire, as well as at the busy Salford Central Station in the North West.

Set to be opened in August 2007, Coleshill Parkway Railway Station will be the first of its kind in the area. To be located on Hams Hall Road, the brand new station will incorporate a bridge system to transport people to platform level and therefore, by law, must also include lifts in order to allow disabled access. As such, when Carillion Plc were employed as the main construction company on the job, they called upon LTR to provide two eight person passenger lifts in a contract worth £85,000.

Furthermore, as part of a major refurbishment project of Salford Central Station, LTR has also been commissioned by James Murphy and Son construction company to install two 16 person passenger lifts. In a deal worth £150,000, LTR is to install two partially- glass lifts in order to transport people from street level up to the station, which is at bridge-level.

Alan Dunkley, the managing director of LTR Lifts comments: "As one of the most sophisticated and respected railway infrastructures in the world, we were naturally thrilled when we found out that we have passed the tight technical standards in order to receive approval from Network Rail.

"We never dreamed, however, of the window of the opportunities that the accreditation could bring as not only have we secured these two major contracts but we are also continually receiving new enquiries from other businesses involved in the railway sector. This is effectively a brand new client base for us and we are very excited as we evolve into this new area."

LTR specialises in providing a complete design, supply, installation, and on-going service capability for lifts, escalators and moving walkways in the UK.
